Hey y’all! Anybody else having a week where they don’t even know what day it is? I definitely don’t feel like it’s Wednesday, but it is. And that means a new blog post and video! If you haven’t been following along, be sure to check out my Instagram where along with the blog post I share every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I also share a video onto my InstaTV!
Today on the blog we have Katie + Turner’s Engagement session at Highland Village in Jackson, MS! These two are happily married now, but that isn’t gonna stop me from showing them off and featuring their engagement session!
I’m pulling my sessions from the archives to catch up on my blogging and so as I’m writing this, it’s a cold and rainy winter day outside. But I can’t help but be reminded of this engagement session because even though it was fall – it was FREEZING! And it started drizzling on us at the start of the shoot so we were limited for our locations but that didn’t stop Katie + Turner from rockin’ this session!
Thankfully, we had selected a location (Highland Village Shopping Center) with lots of covered options so we didn’t have to postpone the session! There were multiple times during the session that we didn’t even notice the rain because we were having too much fun together! Both Katie + Turner are hard working doctors and I was so inspired listening to how they supported each other and encouraged by the drive they both showed for their passions!
One of my favorite parts about this shoot was being able to show off just one of many gorgeous dresses from Lauren B Designs. I partner with her once a month to offer free formal shoots, mainly for high school girls. She has a ton of prom and winter formal dress options but most people don’t realize that she has an abundance of adult dresses too! The pink dress that Katie was pulling off so well is one of the ones Lauren has available! I ALWAYS suggest that my portrait clients (anniversary, engagement or families) head over to Lauren’s to pick out an outfit! And the best part? You can borrow any of the dresses in her shop for FREE if you work with me!!
I had so much fun working with these two and I can’t wait to do it again! They are both such amazing souls and fit each other so well! Katie + Turner, I wish you a lifetime of continued happiness in your marriage and your careers. Y’all are going to do amazing things!
