Wife, dog mom, cancer fighter and abuse survivor - I've seen a lot in my short years and now I'm on a journey to help everyday women feel like beautiful works of art and masterpieces in their bodies and within their life because guess what?? That's what you are!!
There are two types of photos that every soon to be bride needs! Engagement photos and Wedding Boudoir photos!
One of the more important expenditures you’d make when marrying your best friend, is choosing your photographer. And it’s super important to get to know your photographer! Why? Because we’re basically your third wheel on your wedding day. If you would choose me, I’ll be by your side. I’ll make sure to not only capture the important moments, but also the candid shots. Engagement photos allow the bride and groom to get to know me. And I get to learn how to take pictures, specifically for you.
Secondly, you get to practice being in front of a professional camera. The engagement session allows us to “warm up.” Every couple is different – heights, bodies, personalities – and each couple has their “pose.” The only way for me to learn how to take perfect pictures of you, is to make sure you’re familiar with me!
Lastly, it helps build trust between us! Let’s be honest, in order to get AMAZING photos of you, I may ask you to do a few… interesting… poses. They will feel funny and possibly awkward. BUT, I wouldn’t ask you to do them if I knew they wouldn’t turn out perfectly! The only way to get these AMAZING shots, however, is if you trust me completely to do an excellent job. So, an engagement session helps build this trust!
When I got married, Darrin and I went through premarital counseling and I fell in love with what a godly marriage should be and the way God designed a husband and wife to help bring each other closer to Him. We live in the bible belt which screams as us “no sex until marriage” yet once you’re married, it’s still this hush-hush thing that nobody talks about. And that’s not how God intended it!
He designed sex and marriage to directly represent what God has done for us and how Christ served us. Sex and marriage is a BEAUTIFUL THING that God designed.
I want to help women see that it’s okay to feel sexy and it’s okay for your husband to want you like that and that’s how it was all designed! Wedding boudoir is a physical representation of a wife giving herself to her husband as God calls her to – being completely vulnerable and opening herself up to her husband, their marriage and ultimately letting God further work on your heart.
In the world we live in, it’s easy to feel like women are meant to be defined by what a man thinks of you. But we are defined by God and we are beautiful! So yes, I think doing a boudoir session for your husband or even future husband is amazing and something you SHOULD do. But I also believe that in giving that gift to him, you’re ultimately giving yourself the best gift as well!! You’re giving yourself a reminder that you’re WORTH IT and you’re GORGEOUS just the way you are! You can have CONFIDENCE no matter what – because this world’s standards don’t define you!!
I love what I do. I feel as though I have a God given purpose to help women see the beauty in their own body. Everyone deserves to be able to look in the mirror and be reminded that they’re beautiful, just the way you are!
