3 Date Night Ideas At Home | Monroe, LA

Coming up with date night ideas for my couples is one of the things that I absolutely LOVE about my job. I do a LOT of engagement and couples shoots. And, one of the things that I always say to my couples is to make the best of the photoshoot! Since they’re all dressed up, go out and get some dinner! Take a break from it all, and just go enjoy the fact that you’re all dressed up and pretty and have a night on the town!

But, date nights don’t have to be food based (Darrin had to learn this the hard way!) and there are a lot of things that you can do that don’t cost a ton of money! Here are several date night ideas that won’t flatten your pocketbook!

Make a Cake Blindfolded

Making dessert (and cake!) is always yummy! But adding a blindfold can make this SUPER romantic! How does this work, you ask? Well, one person has to be blindfolded, and the other has to direct their hands! It’s super close and snuggly, and the best part is at the end of it, you get to eat the cake!!! Guys, this date night idea is super fun, (usually) pretty darn tasty and a box of cake mix is only a couple bucks!

Candle-light fast food

This one’s a little odd, but bear with me! Odd is good! This date night idea combines quick and easy food, and any ole candles you find laying around the house! You can even lay out a blanket and make it a candle-lit picnic! The possibilities are endless! Just don’t put the candles ON the blanket. Don’t want to start a fire! And remember you can get the fast food delivered through apps like DoorDash.

Everyone loves music. What a better way to bond than for two people to break out their old CDs (Or pull up old songs on whatever streaming service you use) and listen to all the old hits that you loved when you were younger. If there are any mix tapes or CDs that you have stashed away somewhere, dig them out and plug them in. Reminisce about old times and talk about all the things that you used to do when you were younger. And just before the night is over – pick songs to represent your own love, and put them together in one album.
